Two policemen were arrested in the case of robbery, rape of foreign students

PETALING JAYA: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) confirmed the arrest of two policemen believed to be involved in a rape and robbery case in Ampang here last Tuesday.

This follows two police reports received by the Selangor Contingent from foreign male and female complainants who are students at a private college.

Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said, the incident is believed to have happened at 10.09pm, last Tuesday when the complainant and his male friend were at Ampang View here.

He said, both of them were arrested by two men in uniform and took the complainant and his friend to a separate location.

“In the incident, one of the suspects raped the woman while her friend was taken to the bank because he had to pay the payment requested by the two suspects for a traffic offence.

“Following that, a team of officers and members from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Ampang District Police Headquarters (IPD) carried out the arrest of both suspects with the rank of corporal and lance corporal.

“The police opened two investigation papers under Section 376 of the Penal Code (KK) for rape and Section 395/397 of the KK for the offense of robbery,” he said here today.

According to Hussein, both suspects were remanded for seven days to assist the investigation.

“The investigation will be carried out transparently. The police will not compromise with any officer and member involved in any crime or misconduct case,” he said.

He also called on people with information to come to the police station or contact IPD Ampang Jaya online

A report went viral today claiming that two members on duty in Selangor were involved in a case of rape and extortion against two individuals including an Uzbek national.

The report claimed that the victim who was sitting in a car at the scene of the incident was arrested by the two members involved and demanded a sum of money for the offense of stopping the vehicle on the side of the road.

The female victim allegedly got into a police patrol car while her friend went to the bank to get money.
