SUNGAI PETANI – A father is appealing for his 14 year old daughter who has been missing for the past two days to return to her family immediately.

According to Sofan Feroza Mat Yusop, 45, he is very worried about the safety of Sofea Auni Adilah who is the youngest of the three siblings.

He said his daughter left his ex-wife’s house in Bandar Amanjaya, Sungai Lalang at about 8:30 pm, last Tuesday.

My daughter was sent to live with her mother, Hasmawati Derani, 46, to spend the school holidays and did not show any strange behavior, nor was she in trouble.

“We as a family have just returned from a holiday in Thailand and celebrated her birthday a few days before she disappeared,” he said when met here today.

He said he received a phone call from his ex-wife at about 8:50 pm informing him that their daughter was not at home after returning from Sungai Petani town on the day of the incident.

I then rushed to Sungai Petani from Alor Setar to help my ex-wife look for the child everywhere, but failed to find her.

“The call made to her grandmother’s phone that Sofea used went unanswered, causing me to ask my ex-wife to file a police report at the Kuala Muda District Police Headquarters at 2 am out of concern for her safety,” he explained.
