Kuala Lumpur, 1 January 2024 – The New Year’s Eve celebration is always awaited by many people to be celebrated happily every year.  However, it is often reported that a few road users like to break the rules which can cause accidents to them and others.

 Thus, JSPT has implemented OP New Year 2024 in an integrated and simultaneous manner throughout the country starting at midnight until early this morning.  At the JSPT Bukit Aman main level which started at 12 midnight, 31 December 2023 until 3.00 am, 1 January 2024 located at Duta Toll Plaza (direction to the City Center), a Road Block (SJR) was carried out with the strength of 33 Senior Officers &  176 members of Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT).

 This OP also involves the cooperation of a team of friends, namely the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), the Department of Environment (JAS) and PLUS Berhad.

 A total of 970 summonses for various offenses were issued by JSPT in this operation, while 7 people were arrested by AADK for testing positive for drugs.  The JPJ also issued 244 fault notices while the DOE issued 3 fault notices.

 This kind of enforcement effort will be carried out continuously from the beginning of 2024. In addition, one of the purposes of this operation is to ensure that road users always prioritize safety and always comply with road laws.

 This time, the operation was also attended by the Deputy Director (I) of JSPT, YDH DCP Dato’ Mohd Nasri Bin Omar, Timb.  Director (II), ACP Shafiei Bin Mohammad, Chief Secretariat, ACP Azman Bin Shari’at, Chief Assistant Director of Enforcement Supt.  Khairul Azhar Bin Ismail, and Chief Assistant Director of Traffic Control, Supt.  Mohd Yatim Bin Hj.  Osman and officers and members of JSPT Bukit Aman.
