LATEST FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY [December 26, 2023]

 📌The flood situation in Malaysia is getting worse with the number of victims increasing to 25,438 people as of 12 noon yesterday.  Among the affected states are Selangor, Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu.

 📌Floods in the state of Kelantan worsened when the evacuated victims reached 12,572 people on Tuesday.

 📌The number of flood victims in Terengganu continued to increase when a total of 8,808 victims from 2,402 families were transferred to PPS in seven districts in the state.

 📌The number of flood victims in two districts in Pahang recorded an increase to 700 people until 8 am compared to 606 people on Monday evening.

 📌Kelantan recorded seven deaths during the Northeast Monsoon that hit the state from December 21 until Monday.

 📌Five rivers in Pahang have passed the danger level and 13 rivers have been at warning level following the rain that has continued since last Saturday.

 📌Members and officers at the Rantau Panjang Fire Station are still operating despite the station being flooded with water up to 0.9 meters high after heavy rain since Saturday.

 📌People in Pahang, especially in areas at risk of flooding, are advised to immediately move to an evacuation center if instructed by the authorities.

 📌About 10,000 Orang Asli Temiar people who live in seven settlements around the colony have been cut off after the Kuala Betis-Gua Musang route suffered landslides, bridges collapsed and flooded areas following continuous rain since Friday.

 📌The staff of an animal clinic in the town of Lubok Jong Pasir Mas, Kelantan moved cats after the business area was flooded early Monday morning.

 📌 People, especially staff at Hulu Terengganu Hospital had to be transported using lorries after the road to the hospital was flooded since Tuesday morning.

 📌More than 1,000 residents were cut off when the Tanjung Kala bridge, in Kuala Pertang, Kuala Krai Kelantan was flooded on Tuesday.

 📌Some stranded residents had to stay at relatives’ houses when the Tanjung Kala bridge, Kuala Pertang here was flooded on Tuesday.

 📌Thirteen rivers in six districts in Terengganu have crossed the danger level as of 12 noon today, following the continuous rain for the past few days.

 📌TNB shut down electricity supply in 18 areas involving three districts in Terengganu as of 10 am Tuesday due to rain and flooding.

 📌The flood situation in Rantau Panjang in particular and Kelantan in general is not critical as claimed by certain parties but is still under control.  Pasir Mas District Deputy Chief of Police, Superintendent Nik Amiruddin Raja Abdullah advised the public not to believe the claims and informed that the number of flood victims was also not as many as last year during the same period.
