Indonesian citizen arrested after he tried to escape during immigration operation

 An Indonesian citizen who tried to escape from inspection was caught by officers of the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) of Pahang State after chasing him for almost 200 meters in a raid operation in Kuantan in the early morning of 28 December 2023.

 Further inspection found that he had committed an offense under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for overstaying after the social visit pass issued to him expired last June.

 Earlier in the Op Kutip, Selera and Sapu series, a total of 24 foreigners were arrested in 4 different premises involving a restaurant premises, a car accessory shop, a construction site and a residential house.

 A total of 7 Thai, 7 Bangladeshi, 6 Indonesian and 5 Myanmar nationals were arrested after being believed to have committed various offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

 The operation with the strength of 14 officers ended at 1 am and all detainees were taken to the Kemayan Immigration Detention Depot for further investigation.
