IMMIGRATION OPERATIONS: BATU PAHAT AND SEGAMAT HOT LOCATION

16 foreign nationals were arrested in separate operation at several premises around Batu Pahat and Segamat.

A team of officers from the Batu Pahat Branch Enforcement Unit and the Segamat Branch Enforcement Unit have conducted raids involving Grooming Ops, Shopping Ops, Food Ops and Oil Ops in the district.

Several hot spots in the district have been raided following public information received stating that there are several foreign nationals working without valid permits/passes in the district.

All those detained are 04 women and 04 adult men from Myanmar, 04 adult men from Pakistan, 02 adult women from Indonesia and 02 adult women from Vietnam. Those arrested were between 20 and 37 years old.

All detainees are believed to have committed an offense under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 which is to breach the conditions of the passport set, Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for failing to submit any valid travel documents and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for overstaying
time.

The Johor Malaysian Immigration Department will continue to intensify aggressive enforcement to prevent the issue of illegal immigration in the state. Uncompromising strict action will be taken against illegal aliens who violate the law as well as employers and premises owners who employ foreign workers without valid travel documents and work passes/permits.
