Immigration crackdown on homeless foreigners at TBS

KUALA LUMPUR – The tactic of homeless foreigners to turn the South Integrated Terminal (TBS) as a place to stay, was raided by the Immigration Department (JIM) last night.

JIM Kuala Lumpur in a statement said that Op Kutip was carried out following intelligence conducted for a week and information from the public.

JIM explained that the operation at 12 midnight found that the location was a ‘hotspot’ of homeless foreigners or illegal immigrants (PATI).

A total of 30 illegal aliens were successfully arrested, consisting of Bangladeshi (14), Indonesian (5), Indian (5), Pakistani (3), Nepalese (2) and one Myanmar.

“Action was taken as a result of reports from the public and intelligence from officers of the operations department for a week,” he said in a post on Facebook.

It is clear from the statement that all of them are being investigated for offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63.

“All detainees will be placed at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot for investigation and further action,” he said.
