Temerloh: Four students who did a ‘superman’ stunt and rode recklessly and dangerously causing an accident on the East Coast Highway Phase 1 (LPT1), last Sunday, were arrested today.

Temerloh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mazlan Hassan said, all those aged 19, 20, 22 and 15 years old were arrested at their respective homes at 4.42pm.

He said, acting on information based on a viral video that happened at the Ahmad Shah Bridge, LPT1, the Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division (BSPT) of IPD Temerloh acted to track down the suspect.

“The police then arrested the four suspects to help with the investigation. The Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle that was used was also found.

“All the riders were also found to have injuries on their palms, knees, shoulders, back and legs.

“Another suspect is still under investigation,” he said.

He said they were taken to the Temerloh Traffic Police Station and the case was investigated according to Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Earlier, the media reported that police were hunting a group of ‘Supermen’ who went viral on social media after a video showed them riding dangerously on the highway before crashing.

In the 28-second recording, the motorcyclists are seen competing with each other while doing stunts before one of them loses control and crashes.

The incident caused several other riders behind him to also fall while trying to avoid their friend who crashed.
