Foreigner ‘hotspots’ in KL will be raided again in near future, KL Police

KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur police have assured that they will conduct a follow-up operation in the ‘hot spot’ area of foreigners, especially those who commit various immigration offenses in the capital.

An operation similar to the raid on Jalan Silang last December 21 will be carried out by Bukit Aman involving the Department of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA).

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, said the focus of this operation must be on the locations where foreigners are concentrated to detect illegal aliens (PATI) and those who commit crimes.

“We (KL Police) certainly know that there are so many foreigners in Kuala Lumpur and these people consist of those who have valid travel documents or do not have any documents and misuse travel documents.

“However, based on the monitoring carried out, most of those who work have identity documents and that is why they dare to work and be in public places,” he said at the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief’s Walkabout press conference at Jalan Chow Kit, here, last night.

Allaudeen said a large-scale operation will be carried out in the near future to ensure that the city of Kuala Lumpur is free from any element of crime involving foreigners.

“Kuala Lumpur Police will certainly provide assistance either in terms of information on the ground or human resource assistance in the operation.

“What is important is that we want to ensure that the environment of Kuala Lumpur is always safe and free from any elements of crime,” he said.

He said, in addition to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), inspections and enforcement actions have also recently been carried out by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).

He said that the KL Police, through all the District Police Headquarters (IPD) in the administration of the Kuala Lumpur Contingent, constantly monitor any location where foreigners are concentrated from time to time.
