Criminal cases involving foreigners in Kelantan are increasing

KOTA BHARU – A total of 153 criminal cases involving foreigners were recorded in Kelantan last year, an increase compared to the 121 cases recorded the previous year, said Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun.

He said, Thai nationals recorded the highest number with 43 cases, followed by Myanmar (42), Indonesia (37), Bangladesh (18), India (nine), and Cambodia and China one each.

Speaking to the media after the Monthly Assembly Program at the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters here today, he said that the highest recorded offenses involved cases of theft (45), burglary (32) and treachery (28).

Meanwhile, Muhamad Zaki said he has instructed the District Police Chief to ensure that there are no unlicensed moneylenders operating in the state of Kelantan, and he also advised the public not to deal with them because it will only bring negative effects.
