KUALA LUMPUR, 1 January 2024 – The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) conducted a raid starting this afternoon in an Integrated Operation with the Deputy Director General of Immigration (Operations) in the area of ​​business premises in Jalan Thamby Abdullah, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

 The operation led by Tuan Jafri bin Embok Taha, Deputy Director General of Immigration (Operations) also witnessed a total of 370 foreigners from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Philippines being checked.

 Also present were Datu Ken Leben, Deputy Director General of Immigration (Control) and Tuan Mohd Jasmi bin Mohd Juwahir, Director of the JIM Enforcement Division.

 The operation, which involved 224 officers from the JIM Enforcement Division, the JIM Special Tactical Team (PASTAK), the National Registration Department (JPN) and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM), was carried out after receiving public complaints about the influx of foreigners in the area.

 Some of the foreigners who were arrested were found to not have identity documents, violated passport conditions, overstayed and other offenses that violated the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

 All those detained will be placed at the Semenyih Immigration Depot for further action.

 JIM reminds the public and employers not to protect illegal immigrants (PATI) or face legal action.  People who have information about PATI or any information that can help JIM in carrying out enforcement should come forward and channel the information.
