A foreigner was killed for RM2500

KUALA LUMPUR: As a result of a RM2,500 debt, a foreign man was killed by his friend in an incident in Kepong, here last Tuesday.

Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said the report of the victim’s death was received by the Kepong Police Station at 4am from a medical officer.

He said, the incident was reported to have happened while the victim and four friends were drinking alcohol in the area of the basketball court before a misunderstanding occurred.

The victim was stabbed in the neck using a piece of alcohol bottle by one of the suspects.

The incident is believed to be caused because the 24 year old victim, who works as a cook in Banting, Selangor, owed money to the suspect.

He said, the victim was then rushed to the hospital by another friend before disappearing.

He added that the members of the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) carried out two raids at 11 am, the same day, in Bandar Manjalara and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Four Myanmarese men in their 20s who did not have identification documents were successfully arrested.

All suspects have been remanded for seven days for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said.
