934 foreigners in the city of Seremban are checked

SEREMBAN : Foreigners’ hangout areas at the weekend were raided in an integrated operation involving more than 400 officers and police personnel, the Immigration Department and the Seremban City Council this afternoon.

Seremban District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hatta Che Din said the operation was carried out for crime prevention as well as taking into account the community’s anxiety about the influx of foreigners, especially on Saturdays and Sundays in the area.

According to him, in the operation, a total of 855 foreign men and 79 women from various foreign countries, with the majority of Bangladeshi nationals, were examined and found that there were foreigners who did not have any documents to enter the country.

“We will do a screening and illegal foreigners will be handed over to Immigration, we have also arrested five individuals for interfering with the duties of civil servants.

“We conducted an inspection within a radius of two kilometers from the location of the city center where it is known that they are involved in crime and prostitution. More information on this arrest will be given later because we are still conducting an inspection,” he told reporters when met at the raid location, here, today.

In the meantime, MBS Director of Law and Enforcement, Hanizam Ahmad said, in the operation, seven premises were confiscated for operating without the presence of citizens in the premises, while 13 compounds were issued for violating the valid conditions of the license under the Bylaws.
