The Johor Malaysian Immigration Department continues to intensify enforcement and monitoring around the Segamat District. A total of 13 premises were inspected in Ops Gegar, Ops Jaja, Ops Shopping, Ops Dandan and Ops Selera.

A team of officers from the Segamat Branch Enforcement Unit raided and monitored several premises around 11am to 9pm on 16 January 2024.

Actions were taken following public information received stating that there were several foreign nationals who violated the conditions of the pass at the premises. In the operation, a total of 58 foreigners were checked and 05 of them were arrested.

All those arrested are 04 Indonesian women and 01 Myanmar man. Those arrested are between 30 and 51 years old.

All those detained are believed to have committed an offense under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 which is to breach the conditions of the passport set and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for failing to submit any valid travel document.

A total of 03 Notices to appear at the office were issued to individuals in the operation to assist the investigation.

The Malaysian Immigration Department of the State of Johor will continue to intensify enforcement efforts throughout the state to combat the issue of the influx of illegal foreigners.

Uncompromising strict action will be taken against illegal foreigners who violate the law as well as employers and premises owners who employ foreign workers without valid travel documents and work passes/permits.
