24 foreign women were arrested at the massage center

JOHOR BAHRU: A total of 24 foreign women were arrested by enforcement officers of the Johor Immigration Department in Ops Gegar. Operation was carried out following raids on four massage centers in Masai.

Director JIM, Baharuddin Tahir, said that all the foreign women who were arrested at 5.30pm were between the ages of 21 and 42.

He said that the operation involved a team of officers from the Power Reinforcement Unit of the Johor Immigration Department and officers from the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex, Iskandar Puteri.

“The inspection was carried out and it was found that all the foreign women who were suspected of working as massage therapists at the premises were abusing the Social Visit Pass (PSL) and the Temporary Work Visit Pass (PLKS). “Those arrested consist of 17 Vietnamese women, four Indonesian women and two Thai women,” he told reporters today.

The Johor Immigration Department also seized six sets of massage equipment, 10 condoms, six pieces of room access keys and RM2,275 in cash. Baharuddin said that all those detained committed offenses under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for overstaying.

He said, they also committed an offense under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963, which is to violate the conditions of the passport.

He added that a total of six notices to appear at the immigration office were issued to individuals in the operation to assist the investigation. “The immigration department detected many foreigners abusing the facility to stay in Malaysia by working illegally and engaging in immoral activities.

“Strict action without compromise will be imposed against employers and premises owners who employ foreign workers without valid documents and work permits,” he said.

Foreign workers in Malaysia are advised to be legal at all times and work legally with your company as stated on your passport.
