15 illegal foreigners were sent to jail including 9 Pakistanis

 HULU TERENGGANU, 19 December 2023 – As many as 15 PATI people have been indicted in the PATI Ajil Court, Hulu Terengganu by the Deputy Public Prosecutor Unit of JIM TerengganU.

Judgement has set 9 male Pakistani nationals charged under Section 15(1)(c) Immigration Act 1959/63 (Amendment 2002) for committing the offence of staying overtime in Malaysia after expired pas/permit or revoked in jail for 3 to 4 months. Whereas 1 male Indonesian citizen and another male Bangladeshi citizen are each fined RM10,000 or 4 months in jail if they fail to pay the fine.

The court also sentenced 4 more women Myanmar citizens charged under Section 6(1)(c) offenses also the same act for living and being in Malaysia without valid pass or permit fined as RM5,000 per person or 8 months in jail for failing to pay the fine.

JIM is calling for the public to come forward and circulate information if it is believed that there is unlawful activity in their surrounding areas to ensure law enforcement action can be enforced.
